Let us resolve to go green
Go green, go natural. We love to help you!
Organic farmers use a variety of techniques to improve their soil and crops, including crop rotation, cover crops, green manures, composting, and biological pest control.
There are many ways to go about providing this training. One option is to offer courses or workshops at local universities or agricultural extension offices
Organic farming is a type of agriculture that relies on natural processes, rather than the use of synthetic inputs, such as chemicals, to grow crops and raise livestock. It is the healthiest way to produce food and the most sustainable way to farm!
There are many reasons for all of us to go organic.
Organic farming enriches the soil with compost, manure, and other organic matter which improves its fertility and structure. This helps to provide essential nutrients for plants, improve drainage, and increase the soil’s ability to hold water.
Organic farming is environmentally friendly because it does not use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers that are likely to pollute the environment.
Because synthetic chemicals are prohibited in organic farming, the result is that there will be lower pesticide residues in food products thereby reducing health risks associated with exposure to such substances. Organic crops also contain higher levels of nutrients compared to conventionally grown crops.
Organic farming also ensures the maintenance of diverse ecosystems, promotes biodiversity, and the protection of natural habitats which is good for all mankind. Biodiversity is often improved under organic management, making organic farms more resilient to environmental stresses.
With the growing consumer awareness and demand for organic products, our local farmers can attract higher prices for their produce resulting in overall financial benefit to them and the communities they live in.
In general practice, organic farming methods will often require less water compared to conventional agriculture, contributing to water conservation and long-term economic and environmental sustainability due to the preservation of resources for future generations.
